His duties have included serving as General Counsel to a number of companies as well as General Manager of the largest digital marketing firm in its industry. His focus as an attorney was on Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions. This experience motivated him to found his own company, United Commerce Group, which is the parent company for a large number of web properties and one of the fastest growing private companies in America.

The experience gained as a corporate attorney and mid-market Internet Company founder spawned the development of ValleyBiggs to focus on M&A advisory services specific to the Technology, Internet and Digital Media sectors in the Middle Market. ValleyBiggs is one of the few Business Intermediaries in the nation that specializes in the mergers and acquisitions of privately held companies in these sectors with gross sales between $1,000,000 and $250,000,000.

Co-Founder and Business Intermediary; Mr. Matheson has been in the business of buying and selling Internet and Technology companies for over 20 years. For several years, he was affiliated with the largest business brokerage in the world. Out of several hundred brokers in the country, he was consistently in the top 10. He has won several awards and rightfully earned the reputation as one of the Top M&A Brokers in the country.

In 1985, Mr. Matheson saw an opportunity to become an Entrepreneur and dropped out of UCLA Film School to start his own Company. Later that year he opened his first store, an Art and Framing Gallery in Colorado Springs, named Off The Wall. He successfully expanded his retail chain to over 20 stores in Denver, Las Vegas, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Maryland, and Florida. In addition to Off The Wall, other store brands he owned and operated included Thomas Kinkade Signature Galleries, Dixies Hot Cinnabuns and Bearly Camelot.
In 2002, Mr. Matheson sold his portfolio of companies and began a search for a new sector. As he searched for company targets to acquire, he found bad business models and even worse business brokers representing them. From this, he decided that if he was ever going to successfully purchase a business, he would have to become an M&A Intermediary. Eventually, he purchased two businesses, but he found that he excelled as an Intermediary, so after representing many business owners during their exit, he decided to build in his own Business Brokerage, which he co-founded with Mr. Guerrettaz,
