Matt Perkins spent fifteen years in corporate America before joining ValleyBiggs, working alongside executives around the world across finance, marketing, and nearly every back-office discipline a large organization runs on. That cross-functional exposure — seeing how a business actually operates from the inside, not just how it looks on a balance sheet — is what he now brings to each client engagement.

Since moving into brokerage work, Matt has helped close transactions spanning a wide range, from the low six figures up into the tens of millions of dollars. He works both sides of the table, representing owners who are ready to sell a business they built from nothing and buyers pursuing a specific acquisition, and treats each engagement as its own situation rather than applying one playbook to every deal.

How Matt Approaches a Deal

Matt’s starting point with any new client is the same: understand what they’re actually trying to accomplish, since sellers and buyers rarely want the same thing for the same reasons. From there he works closely with each person through the process, adjusting his approach to fit their goals instead of the other way around.

Outside the Office

Matt lives in Wadsworth, Ohio, with his wife and three children. A person of faith, he says he enjoys experiencing the diversity life has to offer — in culture, nature, food, and people — and likes sharing those experiences with his family.
