A Serial Entrepreneur Turned M&A Advisor
Before joining ValleyBiggs, Vance Baker spent more than 20 years starting and operating businesses of his own — eight companies in total, spanning healthcare, retail, and commercial and residential real estate, structured as LLCs, limited partnerships, S-corporations, and a non-profit. Most were brick-and-mortar operations, though several were internet-based, including Shopify stores and an Amazon seller account with brand registry.
Building a Top 100 Home Healthcare Agency
Vance’s best-known venture was a Medicare-certified home healthcare agency that he started and scaled over 16 years, averaging around 55 W-2 employees along the way. The agency was recognized as one of the Top 100 home healthcare agencies in the country in several separate years, out of roughly 15,000 providers nationwide. He currently manages two private label brands and a real estate investment firm alongside his brokerage work.
Representing Both Sides of a Deal
Vance has represented and brought forward more than $450 million in offers over the past year alone. He credits his own history as both a buyer and a seller with giving him a genuine read on what each side of a transaction is feeling — the emotional weight an owner carries into a sale, and the due diligence discipline a buyer needs when evaluating a target, whether it’s the single acquisition they’ve been hunting or one of many in a growing portfolio. He describes honesty and integrity as the values he builds every client relationship around.
Family and Life Outside the Deal
Married for 23 years and father to three daughters, Vance makes time for the outdoors and fishing, and describes an early morning with a good non-fiction book as one of his favorite ways to unwind.
